You could save loads but it depends on which insurer you use, the level of cover you take, and certainly for your buildings insurance your postal address. Also, why not insure the rent portion of your shared ownership mortgage as well? I currently use a company called paymentshield as I am not whole of market for general insurance products. They are very good and they policies are some of the best as well. I would recommend having someone look into this for you. If yo have bought your house and mortgage payment protection from your mortgage lender it is likely to be on the high side.I am a Mortgage Adviser

MM, for reference, I have found for some time now that Source are beating paymentshield every time. Of course, I operate in a different post code range to you and that always affects prices. However, you may want to check The Source out. I know you say you arent whole of market but you may be able to use them within your licence. Source itself covers around 15 providers.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. i could go whole of market on insurance if i want to, but because its not profitable i don't. i will check out source though as i am in the middle of adding to my insurance options, recently having added rentguard and commitments protection. thanks for the info buddy, will quote from source for myself and see if theres a good differenceI am a Mortgage Adviser
