Hi all
I've just been handed a fairly anciernt laptop that's still on service Pack 2 for XP.
Tried to go to the updates website and there's an error message which says the clock on here is too far out of sync with the server to get the updates.
I've tried all the fixes on the website (registering DLL's, changting the clock manually and changing a setting on Internet Options), but nothing's worked.
Anyone know how to get round this problem?

the log file would help if you can post it -
C:\Windows\WindowsUpdate.log
It can be a big file so just anything that shows an error or if you can the latest section between start and end

You can't change the clock/date at all?
Out of interest what is the date/year set at0 -
Just noticed the date is set to 18th August 2002
Might help if I update that as well as the time. Doh!!:wall: Flagellation, necrophilia and bestiality - Am I flogging a dead horse? :wall:
