wall cracks?

In the bedroom and hall upstairs some cracks have developed between the wall and the ceiling..It hasn't happened in the kitchen, and the other rooms have coving, so can't tell if it's happened there. Last month while I was in the loft the hatch fell down on itself causing quite a clatter-could this be the cause of the cracks or should I be looking for other causes?
Many thanks

If it's where the wall and celiing join don't worry about it too much. Walking round in the loft will cause the ceiling to flex and this can lead to small cracks.

If you've had your heating on for longer or hotter than normal in the recent very cold spell it might just be natural shrinkage as the house fabric dries out. - Probably what happened to your loft hatch. Once the humidity goes up again it should all settle.

It's very common for cracks to develop between the wall and the ceiling. You usually have two different materials that expand or shrink at different rates. The answer is either coving or decorators caulk. I don't know how we managed before decorators caulk was invented.

Just so long as I don't want much.
