    I like Opera, it's very slick. I find the look and feel of Firefox to be a bit amateurish.

    I too have encountered this "freezing" problem with IE8. It doesn't like you to have lots of tabs open all at once.

    If you use more flash websites/games google chrome is good else Firefox.

    I've been using Chrome for about 5 months now and I like it's minimalist look and it seems to be much lighter on resources than Firefox. I hardly touch IE these days.

    I prefer IE7. I sometimes use Firefox but the defaults never work, ie download or open because the tick box for default is greyed out etc.

    You may find it's some add-ons causing freeze. try disabling them and re-enabling one by one.

    Another option is SRWare Iron. Based on Chrome and can use all the same extensions etc. but has some privacy stuff added. Worth reading up :)
