Ford Fiesta repairs

Hi,
I have a '98 Fiesta, only paid £400 for it in July and have so far spent no money on it. It's done 195,000 miles :eek: but like I said, didn't pay too much and I'm only bimbling around town in it! MOT is coming up in April, I was just wondering if anyone could tell me roughly how much some work might cost to get it through? Not sure whether some/all of these will need doing.

The advice list from last year is;
- Nearside rear wheel bearing has slight play
- Offside front constant velocity joint gaiter deteriorated
- Offside steering rack damaged but serviceable (guessing this will be expensive if it fails it)
- Offside outer track rod end joint cover split/missing

Obviously, as I paid very little for the car I don't want to be paying hundreds out to get it through as it won't be worth it! (Bodywork isn't brilliant either).

If anyone could give me any advice, I'd muchly appreciate it. :)

    i would put it in for the MOT like that, theres no point in spending money on the things you know about if you think there might be more expensive things that would fail.

    if it passes and you intend keeping the car get the wheel bearing,the gaitor,the track rod end sorted and find out what the steering rack needs. if any of these items had to fail at any speed you could be in an accident or at least stranded somewhere.
    ...work permit granted!
  • Thanks, I thnk I'll put it in for it's test and see what they come up with
