Hi.
Try uninstalling the software, then just reinstall it.. Hey presto you get another 12 months. This works with 2003 Norton antivirus, firewall & systemworks. Not sure about newer versions. There are lots of hacks around to beat the expiry, most substitute the "live subscribe" catalogue file. Depends how you feel about piracy.....Filiss0 -
It doesnt work with 2004 or 2005 they have phone home as it were (activated) before being used or get a access using telephone number.
However there are problems with Norton and have often come across this were is the update wont work at times.
Sometimes the only remedy is to uninstall it BUT that isnt the end of it, as symantec references reside in the system registry.
The only way is to actually find these references and delete them it isnt for the faint hearted, you got to know what you are doing.
I have heard this problem several times with 2003 2004 and 2005 versions. 2004 and 2005 version need activation in order to work.
Of course you can always reformat then reinstall but that isnt an easy option either.

And depends how you feel about this site and its rules and code of conduct too.... please see the text at the top of this page that says "Please don't post any illegal MoneySaving suggestions. "
We all know that software piracy exists; suggesting it as a legitimate means of moneysaving goes against this site's ethos though.0 -
