I've heard that GHD are really good about replacing faulty straighteners. My hairdresser uses them and when she had a dodgy pair she sent them back and a new pair was sent by return of post with no questions asked. GHDs are the best for people with thick hair. Those with thinner or fine hair can get away with a cheaper set. Mine are real cheapos from ebay (£20), but I only use them very occasionally and have very fine hair.Official DFW Nerd No 096 - Proud to have dealt with my debt!0

do GHD still replace them if you've bought them off ebay?0

i'v had mine for just over a year now and no probs as yet.0

I've had mine for a couple of years with no problems - I've got thick wavy hair and they are great. Make sure you invest in a good 'heat protection serum' They are very hot - heat up to 230degrees in secondsIt's easier to get forgiveness than to ask permission

I've had mine about 2 1/2 years, they still heat up really well and straighten my hair, but one of the plates has come loose, I have to superglue it back on every now and then and risk getting high on the fumes !
I do use them almost everyday, so they've lasted pretty well.0 -
Had my GHDs for over two years, use them daily (oh, my poor hair!:o ), no problems at all.[0

my ghds started sparking and was within year guarantee got them replaced.daughters ghds are 3years old and the wire burnt away pretty scary but you still cant beat them they are the best even though they can have problemsBefore you point fingers, make sure your hands are clean !;)0

I had my GHDs for about 4 years, using them pretty much everyday, then eventually they "fused" out or something. I called GHD and sent them in, and got them fixed for £20 (not bad considering what they cost new). I was surprised GHD offer that service so readily actually, because they are so good I would have forked out £80 or whatever for new ones. I think 4 years is a reasonable time for hair straighteners to work before needing attention.0

I am on pair 6 now, yes 6 since 2001! I have had 2 burn out at the cord, and 3 just not heat so well any more. Twice they have been out of the 1 year warrenty, and each time they have replaced them free, with no questions asked!
Not bad really, 6 pairs, and only ever paid £90. You don't get if you don't ask!
Excellent customer service.
