How to fix a slow PC?

Have you got a manual for your laptop? Maybe your laptop has a factory restore partition.
Did you get any discs with it ?

done this but this message comes up:

"Cannot find the C:\Program Files\TrendMicro\HiJackThis\hijackthis.log file

Do you want to create a new file?"

When I click Yes an empty Untitled Notepad file pops up.

Any ideas??

how do i do that?

Run Windows Update from the Start menu. You are on Vista SP1 and the current version is SP2. Then make sure it is set to download updates automatically.
