Hi, I am hoping someone can tell me how to track down insurance companies that were around years ago,I am looking for Provident Life Association Of London Ltd,Crown Life.thanks.

Hi ...

I was hoping those members active in the industry might post what they know, but I did some digging myself, I can't be 100% sure this is correct - there has been massive consolidation in the industry.

But I think Crown Life ended up being taken over by Windsor Life, and the Provident Life you are looking for (there was also a Provident Mutual Life - just to confuse the issue) went to Winterthur Life and they in turn were absorbed by AXA.

I think it might be worth a phone call to both those last Companies to check - cheaper than the £25.00 I believe is otherwise involved.

Stress I am not 100% sure - but I hope this might help, ok.
