Online scammers using Royal Mail

I just wanted to inform online shoppers of the rapidly increasing occurences we are finding of various online scammers using Royal Mail as part of their fraud. The jist is something is being purchased but the seller asks for payment up front via a western union transfer. They then state that said product will be despatched by a Royal Mail agent.
Now i think most people can see this coming as soon as they ask for a western union payment but some of the scammers are using false web pages that appear to link details to the royal mail website. It is also being used internationally between scammers and and victims in other countries. They are more vulnerable as they do not know the ins and outs of Royal Mail services.
I've took matters into my own hands due to the laboured response of the Royal Mail hierarchy. It's been flagged by front line phone staff but the communication to customers appears to be purely reactive. Why they can't get productive messages appearing on the homepage leaves a lot to be desired!!! That would be too simple for us I'm afraid!

I don't see the Royal Mail is actually being used for this. Is it my fault if you tell lies about me, for instance?0

Ok... the title of the thread could have been better but you can get the message. Scammers are creating a fake service using the Royal Mail name, false links and false web links.
The only expectation i have of Royal Mail as an employee is that they make people aware. The company could quite easily use the website to list communications to visitors who may think on to check out the validity of these rogue traders.
I believe the company can get sites shut down if they are informed of them by victims but there is no harm in raising awareness and providing a notification process in a very visible way that will save unecessary phone calls to Customer Services.0 -
Scammers also use DHL, UPS and every other well recognised name they can associate themselves with to make them look genuine, thats why its called a scam!!Everyones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.0

And don't forget that favourite of scammers - Western UnionWhat part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

I see its not the savvy people on here that need to be made aware of this sort of thing. Do you think an ad slot inbetween Jeremy Kyle might be better targeted??0
