Error message please help

When I try to start aol I get the following message "MSVCR71.DLL WAS NOT FOUND. RE INSTALLING THIS APPLICATION MAY FIX THIS PROBLEM"

I have tried googling and have been on Microsoft website however can;t seem to find a solution.

The application it is moaning about will be the AOL browser so you can either reinstall the stuff from the AOL CD or use a proper browser instead.

Did you install something just before you got the error message?

    Was it AOL?

Apparently its something to do with the operating system. I use Firefox but need aol for my emails.

When I looked it said it was part of Visual C. That's not the operating system. You still need to reinstall the AOL client which I imagine should fix it although why it went wrong I really couldn't guess.
