RBS lost my bank statements. Anything I can do about it?

Not quite the same situation as the original poster, but it's RBS and statement-related...
I switched over to online statements last summer as it seemed a bit more convenient, and the promise I could order free printed statements whenever I needed them seemed decent enough. As it happens I needed to get printed statements for address verification in January so went into my branch to order them. There were two methods of ordering statements outlined on the website, namely popping into a branch to request them or calling up the phone banking and using the automated system.
As my local branch is just round the corner I reckoned paying them a visit would be the easiest method. Bloke in the branch said they didn't do such things, but after insisting that's what the terms and conditions were he agreed to get them sent out. Rather than send out proper monthly statements I ended up receiving printouts from the online banking system which I could easily have done myself and of course didn't have my address on them.
Rather than go back into the branch and argue the toss again I followed the other suggested method of ordering statements, namely calling up the phone banking and ordering them through that system. I followed the instructions, got all the way to the end and heard "your statements will be delivered in 4-6 working days". Good stuff, thought I, until a couple of days later I received emails saying "your latest statements are available ONLINE". No bloody good! I then got on the phone to an adviser and went through the whole rigmarole again, to be assured the statements would be with me "within two to four working days" via first class post. They damn well better land on my doormat tomorrow then...
As soon as these statements arrive I'm going straight back into my online banking account and switching off the online statements option.0
