Hi All,
This is what our living room fireplace currently looks like...

We'd like to instal an electric fire.. what would be our options and what would we need to do to go about this?
Thanks in advance

That must be the world's biggest chimney opening! If you want to keep it that open you'd be pretty limited on what you could do with it because most fireplaces would be much lower than that. With most electric fires, all you really need to do is just slap them in place and plug them in, that's certainly all I did with mine!0

The people before us didn't have a fire in there.. it was just the opening with a couple of shelves! We would probably want to reduce the opening.0
