Sorry - a question about recovery discs.

I thought I had successfully created 3 recovery discs for my new laptop.
Today it asked me to do it again (I clicked 'remind me later'). Will it hurt to put one in and see what's on it? Check that it has worked?
Thanks everybody.

No harm at all, in fact an excellent idea. But keep a check on the options and exit the recovery mode when you are content that all is in orderI thought I had successfully created 3 recovery discs for my new laptop.

Thank you - it all looked OK, it had even named itself 'recovery disc' but I thought I could only do it once, so when it asked again I though oooops.
There seems to be a lot of space taken up with a sort of built in recovery (hard drive maybe - sorry - I just sounded like I was talking about some wardrobe) - is this normal? And if the computer goes blahhhhh - does it kick in automatically? that would be so cool.
Thanks again.

Depends exactly how much space - a couple of gigabytes is not unusual for a (hidden) recovery partition. No, does not kick in automatically but the recovery discs you made will restore the machine to 'factory settings'
