avoid mycarcheck.com

One of the worst company's I have dealt with. I requested a classic check for £3.95 but checked my statement and was charged £8.95. When I phoned them, they refused a refund and stated I had requested the additional service (mileage check for £5). I did not request the additional service, they state "their automated system is not at fault", and accused me.
I wish I had read the reviews before I used them. Numerous other users are stating the same issue with this company.

I will never recommend this cowboy company.

This sort of complaint normally results from people not reading the small print....

Although Anihilator posted what I was already thinking, I hope you printed out the "checkout page" of the online transaction to support any future claim. (Is it just me who always does that?)

Once you have proof, contact your credit card company for a chargeback.

No, but I save a screen shot of the page, just in case.

Actually I seem to remember buying a phone from Carphonewarehouse on contract a while back and I made no mention of any additions, just which contract I wanted. Found out later they added some international thing I never asked for and was never told about, but did cost extra. I think some businesses think it's an acceptable way of making a few extra quid and that people won't bother complaining.

That will do just as well. Print it, send it, contest it.

This is only available if the transaction is between £100 and £30,000.
I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.
