Aygo 40,000 mile service

Our Aygo is due for MOT by 3rd March (hubby uses this car to and from work and does a fair milage I actually think its slightly over 40,000) I have just rung the local toyota dealer for prices and have got the service from £186.36 to £160 this is for full service replacement of spark plugs, filters etc and £29.99 for MOT.
Does this sound reasonable. I appreciate the dealers are more ££ than smaller garages but its the convenience of it being at the end of the road and we can book it in for Saturday. Also wondering if you know if there may be more flexibility in the price. They can do it this Saturday which works for us.
I hate being ripped off but there is only £40 difference between this service and the one that does not do plugs and filters. I`m thinking even though we are hoping to change the car in the next 6 months! he will still do a fair milage in the meantime and we need the reliability of the car so are best getting a decent service.
We are in the North West. Many thanks for any advice

Is that £160 + £29.99 for MOT? Sounds reasonable to me for a full service. Maybe go somewhere else next time for the interim service though. But then again maybe little saving tbh. The 40k one's usually quite a big one as well. Just watch it with the MOT though - that they don't fail it unnecessarily.katies_mum wrote: »Our Aygo is due for MOT by 3rd March (hubby uses this car to and from work and does a fair milage I actually think its slightly over 40,000) I have just rung the local toyota dealer for prices and have got the service from £186.36 to £160 this is for full service replacement of spark plugs, filters etc and £29.99 for MOT.

Thanks very much for your quick replies. I don`t know much about cars I just drive mine and feed it every other week!! so not sure about prices. I did say to him didn`t want any added extras!! its £199 for full srvice and MOT. Am going to ring back and see if I book now if they will do it for £190. They don`t seem to be busy this Saturday.0

Sorry can`t add up they came to £190 and have just rung and booked car in for £180! got another £10 off.
To get the price from £186.36 I just happened to say thats a bit expensive, we`ll ring back when I know hubby is off, he said if I rung back next day and booked it he would do it for £160 plus the MOT - I have just rung and said if I book it now for Saturday will you do it for £180 all in and after a little winge he agreed. Before I found this wonderful site I would never have been so cheeky.
I call that a result £216.35 to £180.0 -
TBH, I reckon that £180 for a dealer service and MOT is pretty good going!Proud of who, and what, I am. :female::male::cool:0
