Damage to wallpaper

What insurance would cover this, I only have contents insurance as i'm in a council home and dont need to pay buildings but i do pay for accidental damage. My insurance is with Endsleigh. I had my hall wallpapered around 1 year ago and yesterday we dropped a wardrobe down the stairs (doh)
and its snagged and ripped the paper. Its a large hall and cost us a bomb to get it wallpapered in the first place as the ceilings are so high. We have not got any spare paper and the place i had it from no longer have the wallpaper.

I think you are going to find that you are not insured for the damage. Your contents insurance will not cover you for damage to the wall paper under the accidental damage section because wall paper is buildings not content.
The only chance is that most contents insurance includes liability cover for damage to the landlords property. This would cover the damage to the walls if they were the landlords responsibility but given that your a council tenant and therefore free to redecorate of your own accord I suspect it wont cover it but worth have a chat with Endsleigh about it.All posts made are simply my own opinions and are neither professional advice nor the opinions of my employers

You would probably have an excess anyway on the Insurance, which would make it pretty pointless claiming, even if you could.
Why don't you see if you can buy the wallpaper elsewhere. Contact the manufacturer. The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.0 -
thanks i cannot remember who the manufacturer was
I have searched high and low and cant find it anywhere. I've even looked on ebay lol. 0 -
Check your policy for tenants improvements cover. If you have this it will be covered by your contents policy.0

Did the wardrobe break too, it might be worth more claiming if you are claiming for both.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0
