Natwest Loan - Advice Needed

I have had a couple of Natwest loans in the past, both of which I have no details for.
I rang the loan centre but they told me to contact my local branch for the details, which I have done but they have no record of them (from my address) and suggested I get further details such as a loan account number.
Now I have no record of this, surely they would keep a record? The oldest one would have been taken out a maximum of 9 years ago, and paid off within a couple of years of that.
What can I do about finding out the account numbers? Or are they saying this hoping I don't find them? They asked why I required the information to which I replied I wondered how much I took out, the term etc.
Thanks for any help!

Hi There you could write to them and ask for a copy of the original agreement send £1.00 and give them twelve days to reply.
If they do not know you could send a SAR a copy you will find on a sticky thread at the staart of the PPI FORUM.
Alternatively look on your Experian account. If you do not subscribe you can subscribe just make sure that you cancel the direct debit after you have found the information that you need so you do not get charged.
Good luck:mad:0 -

Unfortunately I don't think I am able to register with Experian or Equifax as I've done the free trials in the past. I do currently get my credit reports from annualcreditreport.co.uk but there is no mention of the Natwest loans.
Oops, I missed the SAR letter! I think I may go straight for that approach as I got the impression they can't/won't send the agreement without an account number for reference.

Whats the difference between the original agreement request and a SAR? Would I be able to reclaim (or try to) with just the agreement?0

Yes, as long as you have the account number you don't need the SAR. You can get the account numbers from the agreement IF the agreements are still going but otherwise you would be better asking for a SAR as they do not need to send them when an account is closed.Whats the difference between the original agreement request and a SAR? I sent my complaint without any account details but sent it directly to the RBS PPI office in Manchester (address in the stickies). They managed to find my old loan acount details, earliest 2003.
I don't find the branches particularly useful at all, in fact my recent experiences have been pretty woeful so I avoid them at all costs!!
