Hi all,
i have recently set up an account to sell my old sony ericsson xperia on sell old mobile .com and after giving all the necessary information, i was told that the phone was worth £96 in working order, which it was. When i received the cheque, it was for £25 stating that it as non working and had water damage, which it didnt!
I sent the company 3 emails stating that i didnt accept the cheque and would like my phone returned as i thought the offer was unacceptable. I have yet to receive a reply, or even a notification of email received. I have tried to ring their number on the web site on numerous occasions, to either get engaged tone, or no answer. I have left them 1 voice mail, to which i have had no reply either.
My question is which, if any route should i take next. I cant see how they could keep the phone, as the offer i sent the phone off expecting to receive hasnt materialised, so surely i should have the option to turn down the offer. Who would i be best contacting, to get this company to listen.
Thanks for listening to my idle ranting!!!

Send a recorded delivery letter, returning the cheque, rejecting their offer, and asking for the return of your phone. What is their returns policy?
Did you note down the IMEI number for the phone, so that they don't send you another broken one in return?Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
Hi thanks for your advice. I sent off the letter recorded delivery returning the cheque telling them that they should have at least contacted me if there was any damage to the phone that would seriously affect the offer they quoted me. They basically explained the damage to which im a bit sceptical about as it was to the battery, and im sure replacement batteries are not that difficult to come by!!! They also returned the origional cheque to me and said that if i want the phone back, it will cost me 20 pounds for postage.
Where would you advise i go next with this as a feel im being slightly ripped off.
I also noted the imei number in case they send me someone elses phone back!!0
