    Eeek sorry to hear of your bad luck. Do you not think that whoever sold you this car in the private sale knew about the warped block? As it would have had very tell tale signs, did you not look under the bonnet after a test drive? I know its easy to say this now but it may help you in future when purchasing another vehicle. I always check the coolant levels before and after the test drive. Or even for the most paranoid of us a sniffer test doesnt cost too much especially for piece of mind.

    If the block is warped then it is more of a pain than just the head being warped.

    Hope you get it sorted seems abit harsh they was willing to have it around when they were going to be making a sale on your behalf.
