reclaim charges for late bank transfer

On my barclays account, I had to transfer some cash over to pay for the mortgate, leaving £100 or so in before it reaches my reserve. The next direct debit wasn't due for almost 15 days, which was for £150.
A day or so later (and a good 10 working days before DD) my wife transferred £200 in to my account over online banking. all correct details as she had them saved and used previously.

20 days later, I had a letter that I'm overdrawn and charged £22. I checked my account and money still not there. Wifes account showed it had been sent. Barclays said nothing was showing, and I'm having another charge of £22 today.

Wife rang her bank, and said nothing they can do. Barclays say same thing and said tough about the charges they won't refund.
Can't afford at the moment to transfer another £200 to prevent charges, so what can we do other than bend over and present my bottom to Barclays? I have a credit card with £0 on it, but don't know pin number and can't balance transfer from debit account. How do I cancel this reserve thing?

I would get your wife to contact her bank and ask them to do a trace on the £200 she says she transferred to you.
