Hi Hoping that one of you experts can assist me.
I have what I feel is a very good claim of being mis sold PPI from the Yorkshire Bank.
I complained initially on the 28th November 2009 using the template letter on the website, I recieved an immdiate acnowledgement from the Clydesdale Bank and then a letter dated 15th December 2009 stating that I will recieve a response within four weeks.
Since then i didnt receive anything until last week I recieved another letter dated 26th January 2009 (over four weeks since the last letter) stating that the complaint is taking longer to process than hoped and that I will recieve a response within another four weeks, it does say in this letter that if I want I can esculate to the ombudsman.
My question is what do i do at this point? do i wait another four weeks or do i esculate now? I feel i have a very strong claim and feel strongly that I want my money back so I want them to know I mean business....
Your help as before is massivley appreciated
Thanks

Hi, its entirely up to you really on this one. If you wait and they come back to you with a reply not upholding then you have lost a few weeks but also if you take to FOS there is a long wait and sometimes FOS will request the file straight away and then the company will stop communicating OR could come back to you with a "yes"..... its a hard decision and one that really only you can make. I wish you extra good luck for a decision really soon.:)Hi Hoping that one of you experts can assist me.

I am in exactly the same position with a complaint I have made. Exactly the same process as described above. Letter of acknowledgement followed by another letter 4 weeks later stating they need more time to investigate thoroughly.
It is obviously a delaying tactic being employed by Clydesdale Bank. Not good customer service Clydesdale Bank!
Personally I am going to wait for their response before taking it to the FOS.0 -
Hiya
I got the same reply from Yorkshire and they seemed to be very helpful and got a response to say that it wa taking longer then they tought to get back to me, 12 weeks from start to finish I gtot a letter to say that they had looked into the clkaim for PPI and felt that they banks were not at fault and this was their final reponse. I feel that I have a strong case and taken it to the fos.
Good luck with your claim x0 -
I am in the same boat...received another "taking longer than expected" letter so have referred my case to the FOS ...I don't think YB will take any claim seriously unless they are involved. I think 3 months is ample time for them to investigate and draw a conclusion...Delay tactics i say.....0
