Mcfi, I feel your pain, I am also in the position of only getting 9p per kwh in future rather than 40p. I am currently with Ecotricity and getting 12p at present. Can I ask who you are with?
Those of use who put faith in renewables by being early adopters have been totally shafted by the FIT system.
spiro: not all suppliers insist on an export meter, mine just pays out based on the theoretical output of the PV system, rather than actual export.
I am with SSE - a company I recommend. I went with them (a) because they were recommended, and (b) because they fit an export meter free.

I agree, we have been totally shafted. At least May 6th is approaching fast. Get this lot out, and the next lot in (probably get shafted by them as well though!)

I never bought my PV panels to make a profit - in fact I have advised people NOT to buy them purely for the profit. It seems a bitter blow though that all the ones who did do it first (and who the goverment is happy to quote in their renewable figures thus far) have now been dropped from their agenda.

The fight has only just started...

To be fair most people haven't been 'totally shafted' as they have had a £2,500 grant(or more) and will still be getting a small FIT etc.

Obviously they are not treated as well as those who will install now, and some lucky post July 2009 installations got the best of both worlds.

Indeed where do you stop with retrospective claims? I scrapped a 15 year old car in 1992 and now feel I should be entitled to a £2,000 scrappage allowance!!!

You scrapped it - it ceased to be, it stopped.

Our turbines and PV panels still generate, slowly adding to the UKs total renewable figure. They'll still generate in 25, 30 maybe 50 years time (a very very few many require some maintenance during that time!)

It would not be quite so bad if the gvnt hadn't screwed up big time and gave some people both full-FIT & grant.
