Mesh computer problem

Hi
I just had delivered a new PC from MESH and it has a fault. On switch on for the very first time it boots up and halts displaying this message: ISASS.EXE System error.
"When trying to update a password, this return status indicates that the value provided as the current password is not correct"
This problem happens during boot up. I have not entered, or been asked to enter any password.
I spoke to Mesh tech dept, they suggest ssystem recovery and booting from the recovery CD all to no avail, needless to say the PC is getting sent back to Mesh. My question is, do any of you recognise this message? Any suggestions/recomendations etc.? This more out of curiosity than anything else.

Loads on the web if you do a Google, some suggest it may be the sasser worm, although that shows itself as lsass.exe, not isass.exe.
That gum you like is coming back in style.

Isass.exe is a virus (trojan) and lsass.exe is a required windows file. Don't get confused, the virus has a uppercase 'i' and the required windows file has a lowercase 'L' so they look similar.

Booting from the recovery cd - have you been able to boot off of it at all and do a system restore? Or does the PC not read from the drive at all? Could be that your PC BIOS settings are to read from your Hard drive before your CD drive and so wont boot from cd.
    I'm better off without you.

Thanks for the reply. It does look like lower case L; lsass.exe and also displays.
"When trying to update a password, this return status indicates that the value provided as the current password is not correct"

The PC then goes into an endless cycle of rebooting with switching off power the only way stop it. The PC will not boot off the CD or anything. In other words, after switching on PC it will stop during the boot up, pause with the above message, then go into an endless cycle of reboots.
Is that enough info, or do you need more?

If you can, go into your Bios and check the bootup sequence and make sure CD Drive is before HHD (harddisk drive). If its not the cd won't boot, it'll just keep trying to boot from the hard drive - which i think is probably got a corrupted windows install.

    Just found these articles:

I really would advise against trying to fix this yourself if you're not computer savvy - seems more effort than its worth since you're sending it back, enjoy your sunday!
