never had a gas bill
Briefly, We moved into our house 4 years ago, switched from edf to click energy with british Gas.
We have no paper bills all online. We received welcome letters thanking us for our business 1 for gas and 1 for electricity.
Readings were sent and we were supposed to give readings on line or they will just estimate. Unfortunatly we just let them estimate.
We had a baby at the same time as moving which did not really help with keeping on track of things. We now have another baby.
We pay by direct debit.
Shortly after changing to BG they sent us a e-bill for electricity and my wife phoned to enquire about the gas. Where we were told that the systems were being updated and that all will be delayed but will catch up soon.
After 3 phone calls over 3 months going into the first year we never received any e-bills.
A year ago we had several calls from BG asking us to switch back to them, which we explained we already were. Sales team had no idea.
We don't know what to do now.
Do we contact BG and get collared the whole amount if traceable or just say nothing. We do not have any records of the contacts made in either direction but do have a letter from BG stating that we are customers from 2005.
We have not paid them anything as we have never had any bills paper or otherwise.
All our electricity comef from BG but nothing for gas.
Anyone with anything similar or just help.

Firstly I hope you have been setting aside money for the bill that will arrive one day.
As you have a welcome letter from British Gas I would write to them explaining that despite calling them several times you have only received an elec bill and no gas bill. You may be covered by the 'back billing' rule which only allows them to go back 12 months when it is their fault.
DO NOT let this go on any longer as we see too many horrow stories on here of people who put their head in the sand hoping it will all go away, it wont.IT Consultant in the utilities industry specialising in the retail electricity market.
