chewed paper door frame/skirting

I've got yet another house disaster that I am looking to fix.

I came downstairs tonight thinking one of the dogs was chewing a bone in the kitchen but no - the chewing/grinding noise was him munching the door frame between the kitchen and living room

I live in a new build house approx 6 years old and the skirting boards appear to be compressed paper which is now a mushy grey instead of a painted wood effect material :o Any tips on how to sort it?

rip all the skirtings off and replace with real wood.
or hit the dog very hard, with a spade...

    Shotgun,RSPCA etc

    or

Take off the damaged length, take it to a local builders yard and see if they can match up the profile of the skirting,if it is a new build the walls should be o.k and you might be able to use some no nails to stick the new skirting back on,
then replace the dogs teeth with rubber ones .

More likely to go for option 1 but seriously considered option 1 when I noticed the door frame :p
