Dishwasher tablet dispenser

I have got Electrolux dishwasher and it seem that it doesn't dispense washing tablet ( using fairy all in one gel ) everytime and ends up with improper washing. Is there any solution to this problem and also I am just wondering how the dishwasher dispenser get opnes up?? Does it open up by water jet / electric motor / something lese?

operates with a plastic catch and a small electrical solenoid, i never bother using mine, just chuck a tablet in when you load it up, dishwashers drain, open the soap drawer then fill in that order

I have just got a new dishwasher and it says to put the tablet in the cutlery basket. It seems to work fine.

I checked inst. manual of my dishwasher and it says do not put tablet anywhere other than dispnser...might be working differenly...

I also have electrolux diswasher and had the same thing happen. It suddenly occurred to me that the dispenser for the tablets is in line with the top rack and that I hadn't been checking this was completely pushed back when I closed the dishwasher door. I now make sure that the top rack is completely pushed back so the dispenser has room to open properly before I close the door and, touch wood, I've not had a problem since.

I will check with mine electrolux ESL 6115 model and will take care about it. Hope it will sort out the problem as it's very annoying.

My dishwasher only has a manual compartment for the tablet, but I don't use it normally and just put the tablet in with the knives, forks and spoons as they are generally the dirtiest things in the dishwasher.

Our dishwasher dispensor broke several years ago and we just throw the tablet in the bottom and turn it on. Probably doesn't work as well but we've never had any problems.

I recently saw a gadget in the supermarket which is a detergent dispenser for dishwashers, I am pretty sure it was by Finish. It was a dispenser which clipped inside the dishwasher and automatically released the detergent for so many washes (10 maybe?) and then you had to put a refill in. I couldn't really see the advantage, because it's not a great hassle to pop a tablet in the dispenser each time. But it could be useful if the dispenser isn't working properly.
