has anyone here had experience of a spark plug breaking and a piece of the plug falling down into the bore and being hit by the piston?
WITHOUT any loud bang being heard?
Just interested....
btw we're cutting our losses with the main dealer and getting our trusted mate to fix it.

About 6 months ago while I was driving my engine management light came on, revs dropped and the car went into limp home mode. When I finally reached home I started the car again and it was ok. inspected the spark plugs and noticed that one of them was loose and missing one of the electrode. I put it down to the electrode falling down the bore which caused the engine management light to come on as it would have interferred with the ignition. I replaced all plugs and havn't had a problem since0
