lynsayjane wrote:mrs s whats the deal with telling you the sex of your baby down your way? i've a friend 22 weeks at the mo who won't get told, apparently it's policy up here not to say even if you can see on the scan. after enquiring with a nurse friend i know it's summit to do with ethnic minorities aborting girl babies to try for boys
Hi Lynsayjane, I don't know but am wondering the same thing myself- it's one of my questions for the midwife when I eventually get to see her. I would like to know so I can take advantage of sales shopping for the right kind of clothes. Hounslow is my borough and it's quite Asian so I'm not sure if that makes it one of the areas where you can't find out. Quite scary that that sort of thing goes on isn't it...
Your friend could go private but it's pretty expensive (I'm paying £150 for a nuchal scan + blood tests).Debt at highest May 2006: £27,472.24

More drinks anyone?
Oh I didnt tell you - I locked myself out of the house today and had to break back in (well with dads help).
Like a right numpty I shut the door behind me and as soon as it clicked I realised I'l left the keys on the other side of the door. Oops
Had a shove my hand through the letter box with a massive metal file and knock the keys out so I could open it with the spare.
My hands all poorly now and looks like I've been fighting. The early bird gets the worm but the second mouse gets the cheese :cool:0 -

call me lyns, everyone else does.
yeah my pal did think of that, but in truth so long as all goes well she wouldnt care if it was an alien! well maybe not...
she lost her father last year at the same time as her second miscarriage (first was when he went into hospital for the last time) so all she hopes for is a healthy baby, either sex would make no difference.0 -
bye funky - see you later!
Mrs A - ahhhh, tiny baby booties........... gets me every time - mines 1.5 years, into everything but her smile lights up my world.....This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!
Current Pay Off Target : £1500 :mad:0 -
