FT.COm Portfolio Conundrum

Can anyone explain what I am doing wrong with the FT portfolio tool. I had the same problem with the Investors Chronical and Thisismoney portfolios, which I think are the same engine, so I abandoned these.

Example:

Share BG: Entered 312 shares at £12.35 bought 12 January 2010. My total cost is £3,853.20.

Today's price is £11.62 = £3,625.44 which is a loss of £227.76.

Portfolio shows Current Value £3,595.28, Gain £3,556.75 and percentage gain +9,230.64%.

None of these numbers make any sense to me. There is nothing else you can enter except the number of shares, price you paid and the date.

I think I must be doing something wrong, but I do not know what. I would appreciate it if someone can explain, or test an entry and see what results they get. It appears to be a brilliant tool but the numbers are nonsense.

Decimal point in the wrong place when entering the price? The difference in the two amounts is equal to having bought the shares at 0.1235.

ETA - you need to enter the purchase price in pence, so 312 shares at 1235.00.
