Changing suppliers with new house/useage
Options
I moved to a brand new house at the end of Oct. We have had 2 gas and electric bills.
Gas is with EDF
Electric with British Gas.
How do I know if I am having a good deal with them? To me it seems expensive but we have moved to a much larger property so thats probably why.
Also, because we have had a very cold last few months the useage I put in isnt really going to be an acurate reflection over the next year.
Any suggestions?

Are you still on the standard (expensive) tariffs or have you asked to change? Read the meters, feed your actual usage in KWH (not £££) into a price comparison site.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

The good news is that the suppliers are the right way round - that is, you take gas from an electricity supplier and your electricity from a gas supplier. But that won't be too much consolation if you are on standard tariffs rather than online direct debit tariffs. Contact EDF straight away (if using gas heating) and switch to a cheaper gas tariff if available.
As to figures for the comparison sites I would plump for 90% of your electricity and 50% for your gas as an extrapolation. The exact annual consumption is not too critical unless you have a very low consumption - just have a look at what prices are available in your region.0 -
Thank you very much borth for your replies. I will have a gander at one of the price comparison websites and have a look what comes up.
Husband is at work at the moment and the bills are both in his name so I cant speak to them. He can get onto it tomorrow.
I suspect I am on a standard tarrif as we havent arranged anything with neither gas/electric as we were intending to change over/set up direct debits but didnt want to tie ourselves until now.0
