Front door opening change.

Hia. Have been to view a house towards a potential exchange. Just weighing up all the pros and cons should it go ahead. The house is fairly new and has no hall. You walk straight into the lounge from the front door. At the moment it opens into the room which i dont like. Just wondering if its possible to change a front door so that it opens the other way to a wall and keeps some privacy/heat in. Can anyone advise if thats an expensive job please? Would need to call in someone to do it.

Think whether it's practical with regard to moving in furniture etc. as there might not be room if you change the door opening.

Have you considered adding a porch to the front of the house?

Thanks Poppy. Didnt think of that. Thanks. I have thought about a porch but the property is Housing Assn and it may not be allowed. There are only 6 and no one else has one. I will have to ask landlord. Its the cost though. My own landlords will allow changes but ususally, not anything permanent in case you move. The rent is pretty high for the one I might move to and it ticks all the boxes but the front door is bothering me. Its not a major issue but one of the negatives.
