Wedding insurance

Hi all,
Brand new to this superb forum and hoping someone can help?
I get married in just over six months and I'd like some advice on where to buy wedding insurance. The day has cost us alomost £16,000, so we'll be wanting a policy to cover that and we're also not wanting to pay any excess on an unfortunate claim. I've had a look through previous threads on here and haven't seen the same question, so I'm only hoping this hasn't been asked before!
Thanks in advance.

I found an advert in one of the wedding/bride type magazines and used them. Sorry I can't remember the name but it was a long time ago. You do not have to buy the mag; just copy the info!!
You may be able to find something online.0 -

I have tried, but there is just TOO MUCH info and it's getting me really confused! I was hoping this forum would be a good place to start asking questions first!0 -
As it is a fairly specialist subject you may be better off asking in the wedding section of the site as there will be many more people there who have recently been thinking the same as yourself. All posts made are simply my own opinions and are neither professional advice nor the opinions of my employers

This is arguably the best on the market for cover and claims, it's not the cheapest though but you get what you pay for...

I got my wedding insurance via Confetti.co.uk
Dont know if they still offer insurance - it was very reasonable, that was 3 years ago though.0 -
Depends on what you are insuring, is the 16k the total you have spent or is that just the cost of the day. ie if your dress cost 3k the day only cost 13k! as the dress can be used when you rebook the day. Insurance companies will take this attitude!
What are u attempting to insure against? Bad weather, the venue canceling, or the wedding being canceled?
All this will have a bearing on the cost.
Think what is likely to go wrong and wiegh up the costs. When i got married I insured against bad weather (our reception was outside) and made sure that all the orginizers were covered if they failed to deliver or an acident occoured. I was commited to marring my wife so what ever the weather the wedding would have gone ahead!0 -
