  • my mum swears by it and has been using it on an off for years. It's alright but for the price I'm not so sure, I've used cheaper brands which seem to have been better. What do you use for curly hair?

I use whatevers on special :D Usually a conditioning one. I was so disppointed with the Frizz Ease and Aveda's curly stuff. I'm beginning to think it's all a big con
  • I keep hearing more and more about this conditioning only method, what worries me though is that without a diffusing my hair with hair dryer and using products I get a big afro mess, not curls just well a birds nest is the best way to describe it. My hair is naturally curly, its very very thick and there is lots of it, if I put mousse and serum in it and let it dry naturally I get curls but no volume, it kinda hangs lank.

Will the conditioner was out hair products like mousse etc?
Whats your hair like? is it the same as mine?

Queen...are you my long lost twin sister?

Give up the mousse...it volumises the hair and makes it bigger. I run some curl cream through my hair, I'm using VO5 at the moment (3 for 2 in Boots ;)) and leave it to dry naturally. I do dry it with the diffuser sometimes. Either way, I look gorgeous :D:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Sounds similar. Mines not very thick due to ill health. I have found the secret to not drying with a diffuser, and I rarely do now, though you do get better volume drying slowly upside down with a difuser ...and avoiding lankiness is simply less and lighter product...and not freshly shampooed hair!

My hair wet.straight hangs just to my elbowsist...dry its sort of mid way between shoulders and elbow. I have it in plaits atm....two french braids that I can scrape out of the way outside, and the plaits are a measly 3-4 inches below shoulder....

I haven't used mousse for years though...
  • um thanks everyone, I think I'm going to read some more about it and certainly give it some lengthy consideration...anything to tame the beast so to speak!

  • I'm feeling really down today :( So i'm trying to pamper myself by painting my nails but just feel really stupid.

Aww - sorry you're all fed up. There's been some great ideas for cheering yourself up in the replies, so hopefully you're feeling a bit brighter now. Is it possible for either your little Sis to come and spend a weekend with you or for you to pop home for a weekend to see the family? It's all well and good having your BF close by but you need the rest of your family as well. xx

I am looking forward to a good soak with a face mask and some of my half-used Sanctuary bath relaxer tonight, followed by some BS Honey body butter (nicest body butter ever, why did they discontinue it???). Mmm.

Always seems to be the way - things I like often seem to get discontinued too!

I don't really get on with Frizz Ease shampoo and conditioner either although I do love the serums. I do like the John Frieda Brunette range though, and also Toni & Guy seems to work well for my hair which is extremely thick and naturally wavy/curly with a tendancy to frizz.

Me too, i drink a lot of fennel tea which is great for milk production (still bfing dd) and also acts as an appetite supressant.

Need a break, thanks for the fennel tea tip, didn't know it was an appetite surpressant, will have to get some!

Used up the very last of a No7 serum, have one more full one left to use, don't think I'd buy it again as it seems very expensive for what it is! Still have 2 time delay night serums left to go though :D I think I'm allergic to something I've put on my face as I have a couple of dry patches, might be the rubbishy eye cream so will try a different one tonight.

teabythesea, sorry to hear you're feeling sad, it's not nice being away from home, particulary at uni when life can be so stressful with the work and stuff. Sending lots of happy hugs to you and CompletelyLost, hope you feel a bit better soon :j

Hopefully this won't count, but I'm 'fessing up anyway :D had to buy some olive oil ear drops today as I seem to have developed an earache, ick! Hopefully the lovely body shop stuff will turn up soon to make me feel better :D:D

Cheesus christ! I'm never going to get through all these posts now!

Oh well. I bought extra toiletries I didn't need, today. Infact another showergel to add to my 20 or so I already have. BUT it was partly to hide the fact that I was using the Dove deoderant coupon glitch in Boots and might aswell have got money off something. :D
The SA kindly suggested that I might want to keep my voucher, as the sprays were already on BOGOF, but I asked nicely if she could try scanning it anyway and she was quite shocked to see it went down in price. :D Think she was a bit weary after that. But yay, got my 2 deoderants, a shower gel and some vitamins for £1.34, and 200 points with the acm voucher. Yay-ness. :)

I finished off a radox shower gel this morning, and was glad I didn't like the smell.

Last night I finished off a bottle of Bombay Sapphire:beer:
Today looking at finishing off the Paracetamols :(

    :rotfl: know that feeling well....
I've got a dilemna, I want to buy a "Tween" duo of the Tigi Bedhead Superstar shampoo and conditioner (750ml each) as it's so cheap on Amazon, and I've got a £10 voucher for there. I'm worried if I wait until I'm out of shampoo the seller or the product won't be on there anymore (it's not direct from Amazon) and I'll kick myself cos I'll have to pay a lot more for the same thing.

I've only got 1 shampoo in the shower, 1 in gym bag and about 3 minatures. What should I do?

Decant the mini's into your other bottles - then you need a stash in case there is a nuclear war or we all get snowed in again.... simples !!!!

still stuck at work, so not had a chance to go shopping - so still not bought anything (other than my olay and deodorant!) since I started.... guess tehre are some good things about work !!!!

I have to confess, I have bought some conditioner that I didn't strictly need. However, I did want to try them all, and two of them were on offer at half price in Sainsbury's. The other was from Morrison's, which I was passing today but never usually get to.

So far since the start of the year, I have used up a full size Boots Expert body firming cream. WIBA? Possibly. It wasn't bad, but wasn't outstanding either. I have also used several sachets of face cream: two DHC B cream WIBA? Maybe. The cream was nice but I wasn't so keen on the scent. Also a L'Oreal sachet WIBA? No, didn't like the smell and it didn't feel great on my face.

I have, however, received a hair removal cream and a small pot of body butter to trial for a magazine. So there's probably still a little more coming in than going out in this house!

Remember if you're going to Debenham's for the Clinique GWP that you can use the vouchers from the Daily Mail to get 10% off in the Beauty department.

I will need a new eyebrow pencil very soon and theirs is the best I have found, so I am tempted to get one myself...

I just miss home a lot more than I expected. I'm away at uni but done it to be closer to my boyfriend of a long time. I have a little sister and I miss her more than anything in the whole world. The love I feel for her is sometimes unreal she's like, the greatest part of my life and everytime I say her name I have to stop myself from crying. I'd just like to move home with my boyfriend but apparently jobs dont justcome up :(

Awww, poor you, that is so sweet. Have an even bigger hug!!!! :A

It's strange, I never actually noticed as I hadn't been inside a Body Shop for about 2 years as I'd realised it was too expensive... then I discovered Grabbits and the rest is history. :rotfl:

I still have a leetle bit left of my Honey body butter, probably enough to do my decollete in the morning and then I'll pop £12.50 (current body butter price) into my savings pot. Yay!

I used up an Origins Drink Up mask this evening. WIBA: Yes, it is fabulous - but only if it was the result of a major Grabbit! That's £17 more  going in the pot.

ETA: I'm now over £100 in my toiletry savings pot, yay!!!!!!!!! And I sold something elseon eBay this evening too, oooh it's great seeing the totals increase!
