edited 4 March 2010 at 4:09PM in Reclaim PPI & other insurance
Have received another letter from LLoyds apologising for the delay and they are investigating my complaint, which will take up to another 4 weeks. should i just go straight to the FOS? In my original letter i sent a copy of all statements with the charges highlighted for easy reference.

Can i claim back credit card protection payments on a credit card that has now closed... I've added it up and it comes to nearly £2,500... Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, you have to have reasons for reclaiming but yes, you can complain even when a card is a number of years old and closed.

There is a reclaiming guide here
    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance
You write to the firm that sold you the PPI and then give them 8 weeks for a full and final response. If after 8 weeks they get back and do not uphold it then you are free to use the FOS.

    Good luck
  • Have received a letter back from Lloyds saying they will look into my request, however this may take some time !!!!!...

Thats good, you only have to give them 8 weeks though since first complaining and then you can submit to FOS.

    Good luck
