laptop safety whilst on repair???? pls help!!!

ive spoken to one of the "tech person" regarding the screen of my laptop getting blurred/blurry. she said someone gonna come and take it for it to be check and this normally takes 10-14 days. n ow. i wanted to know if everyhthing i have on my lapotp like photos and details will be safe. what shall i do?? im very paranoid!!! pls help.

and oh, keyboard still jumping despite spending 30mins on the phone with her asking me to do this and that... it was alright for few minutes..

I'd take the hard drive out.. they don't need that to fix the screen.

Presumably you regularly back up your data to an external drive?

Encrypt the drive with truecrypt

Take the hard drive out, I bought a desktop from PC world and after 1 month it would not switch on, they took it to repair and lost it!!!! They did give me a new unit but I lost my personal stuff..
