Hi, has anyone travelled in France using the highspeed TGV train?
We are arriving in the Charles De Gaulle airport in France and wanted catch the TGV and I am unsure whether to book the train tickets in advance or just buy them when I get to the train station. I can't seem to find any info on the web so was wondering if anyone here had travelled by the TGV and how easy it was.

Yes you can buy the tickets at the station (if there are seats left - they are fully reservable), but just as here it can be considerably cheaper to buy them in advance

woll have some useful info and links0 -
thanks ever so much, will take a look at the link now. I am thinking it would probably be better to book online, the thing is it wants me to put in the time of train I want and as I am flying, worried about delays etc I don't really want to have to do that.0

You are going to have to book a particular train - that's the way they work. If you buy a flexible ticket, then it's changeable to a later train (if there are seats) - but that may be the same price as buying on the day anyway.0 -
www.raileurope.co.uk is easy to use, easier than the SNCF website especially!
I travel often on the TGV and have always enjoyed the experience (except people never sit still and are constantly walking up and down the aisle!). Not sure if you are under 26, but if you are then you are classed as a "youth" and pay less- the saving is particularly noticeable for ticket purchases on the day of travel.0
