Using September as a starting point, my total usage for this winter has now exceeded last year by 5%

Last Year = 6420 kWh This Year = 6710 kWh

2 bed victorian terrace, Northamptonshire

October, November and the first half of December 2009 where milder than last winter, of course its been colder since.

You lot are lucky, I live in Yorkshire and am not even in during the day. My gas consumption for three months only (30 oct-30 jan) is 8322 KWH!

We were 9430kWh for the 3 months until January.

Last year we were 8326kWh for the same period.

We also have a portable gas heater which we use as the kitchen is freezing (even with the heating on). My son saw his breath in there this morning when he first got up! We only used 1 bar and I try not to use it if no-one's in there. A bottle of gas costs £25 and lasts us 3 weeks.

I don't understand this. It's on my online account and it says my useage from January 2010 until March 2010 is 10497.5kWh. How do they know that? It's only the 2nd of February!

It doesn't day that it's a predicted useage, it says it's past useage.
