Vauxhall Vectra

does anyone know how to (or what to get info on) remove&replace the cigarette lighter unit of an old shaped vectra?

want a get a sat nav but can't bc the cig lighter doesn't work

    Sometimes the heat and age corrodes the contacts. If the centre pin of the socket has a green / black film coating it, try spraying some electrical contact cleaner (available online from Maplin Electronics / Farnell) into the socket and scrape the muck off the contact with a small screwdriver (remove the fuse first!)

    More obvious (but often overlooked), the power to my vectra's socket is only active with the ignition.
