Hi and congratulations to all you beautiful Brides/Brides to be out there!!
I am to be married on 26th June this year, I have more or less got all arrangements sorted and although most are still in theory they are under control (so far!) I am on a very tight budget my wedding has so far (yet again in theory) cost around £2000, (so far so good)! this is the first time I have done this kind of thing before and have also not been to a wedding in I don't know how long! Could someone please give me some ideas on what presents to buy for:- Bridesmaids =4 Mother of the bride, mother of the groom, best man, and 2 ushers I don't really want to spend any more than £10 each but could possibly stretch to £15, I don't want to have to make anything as I am rubbish with my hands and have zero patience lol! All your ideas will be gratefully received!

How old are your bridesmaids?
Maybe a pretty necklace/earring set? or a nice photo frame?
MOB is usually offered a bouquet of flowers - but maybe you could get a nice plant or something (orchid possibly?)
Same with MOG!
Best Man can be something blokeish possibly - a pint glass maybe? (can get it engraved with "for our best man" or something)
Ushers - cufflinks/ties?
It's a bit difficult as we don't know them.....Why does nobody say Thank You anymore??:mad:Debt Free as of September 2011 :jSealed Pot 2009 number 334 - £100 Saved! yey!!Sealed Pot 2010 number 334 - £116.51 Saved! Yey!! YIPPEE!!0 -
I've been a bridesmaid twice, for both my sisters. One sister got me a voucher for a swanky day spa in London, the other got me a little bejewelled mirror compact from Monsoon. I've also known younger bridesmaids to get jewellery but I suppose that could work for any age.
My boyfriend got an engraved tankard when he was an usher at his brother's wedding.
I think generally the mothers of the bride and groom get flowers."A mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone, if it is to keep its edge." - Tyrion LannisterMarried my best friend 1st November 2014Loose = the opposite of tight (eg "These trousers feel a little loose")Lose = the opposite of find/gain (eg "I'm going to lose weight this year")0 -
I think generally the following is done, and certainly we will be doing the bridemsid, MoG & best man suggestions below!
BM's - gift of the jewellery they will wear on the day
MoG, MoB - bouquet (liking the idea of orchids though!)
BM - tankard / hip flask
Ushers - cufflinks to be worn on the day0 -
Thanks guys, My four bridesmaids are 17 (my daughter) 36 my friend, 36 my sis in law to be and 26 my sister. The best man is my OH's brother and he's 39.
My ushers are my 2 sons ages 19 and 14.
So the way to go is flowers for the mums then? I think I will do the potted plant idea as my mum doesn't like flowers as she says they just die off, lol thanks so far ladies xx

Any help here would be great normally I would go down the flower route for my Mum
However she is a florist, lol, so sick to the sight of flowers
Was thinking of a spa day but then we come up against the being on her own thing, etc etc, and I would love to combine it with my Dad so he goes to golf for the day and my mum in a Spa that way they can travel together, but have no idea where to start!1
