Nationwide are rubbish

Why would you use Nationwide for saving? I could be wrong but I have very rarely (never?) seen Nationwide top of any savings account "Best Buy" tables.0

I don't think all the problems you highlighted are all that serious tbh. Perhaps only the non-ability to set up a weekly SO might be a bit annoying for me.
They are required to notify you of charges by writing, but they aren't required to send a full paper statement.
My OH likes to use his Lloyds TSB OD quite a lot, but never receives paper statements, only paper notification of charges

OK, I understand it's not required now but it's their current policy which was made clear when I switched on the "paper-less" option. In any case, it's still on the same single sheet of paper (not too many transactions on my statements usually), so still don't see what the fuss is about.0 -

We became Nationwide customers by default. Our ISA started off with the Staffordshire and got taken over (By Portman, then Nationwide). Then because since 2004 I have not been UK resident, I have not been able to use my ISA.
I am now UK resident again and a full overhaul of all our savings will be underway when we are doing our next stint in the UK.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0 -
