I am seeing a lot of these posts about this redirection virus and security suite virus.
Is there certain sites that are notorious for this spreading, and what is the best thing to do to avoid being infected by it,i have noticed that there are one or two people on here that are very good in getting rid of these.Im hoping that i do not need your services in the future, although if i do get it i will know where to come strait away.
Forewarned is forearmed.
Thankyou all.

Most of the time it comes through 'infected' websites
Best thing I can advise is use FIREFOX with the NOSCRIPT plugin
Or use a SANDBOX(ie):idea:0 -

Hello Alienrik.
My daughter has firefox on her laptop and she has told me that she would not use anything else.
I dowloaded Firefox a good while ago and on trying it i found that it made?? my computer go quite slow, now im not entirely sure if it was firefox that did this hence the question mark, however before installing it i was usuing IE and the my computer was running at its normal speed.
I uninstalled Firefox and went back to using IE.Forum spellcheckers are the pitts.0 -

Hello Busenbust.
Funnily enough i was only reading that one this morning.
I have Bitdefender Antivirus 2010 installed on my desktop.Forum spellcheckers are the pitts.0 -
I think a poster asked this question only last week?
Just be careful what you download or open attachments in emails, if unsure double check (just use google).
Downloads of rogue antivirus programmes seem to be on the increase, if a security alert pops up on your screen in a window saying you have problems don't try and cancel it just disconnect from the internet and close the programme with task manager.
Have good antivirus/malware programmes, run windows updates.0 -

Firefox should run faster really (Especially with no extra 'add ons')
Maybe a good idea to do a general check of the system to be safe? (Entirely upto you)
Download MALWAREBYTES (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD LATEST VERSION')
http://www.filehippo.com/download_malwarebytes_anti_malware/
Open malwarebytes and goto UPDATE and click 'check for updates'. After its updated goto SCANNER and click PERFORM FULL SCAN then click SCAN
Post the COMPLETE log here AFTER youve deleted everything it finds
reboot
Download HIJACK THIS (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD LATEST VERSION')
http://www.filehippo.com/download_hijackthis/
Click MAIN MENU then DO A SYSTEM SCAN AND SAVE A LOGFILE(Takes seconds) then post the log so we can see whats running
(do NOT do anything else with Hijack but scan and post the FULL log):idea:0 -
Hi Norant, I can't comment on the efficacy of Bitdefender; you can probably tell from my posts that I put my trust in Avast - it's a superb anti-virus package, and even better in Version 5:cool:. Some of my other suggestions are on the same thread. Ensure you have an effective firewall also; the default firewall in Windows 7 is actually very decent IMO.Hello Busenbust.
