eDF S@aver Version 5 - anyone switch to it?
Options
Hi,
Been looking at comparison sites for a few days now and eDF on the above tariff seem the cheapest for me, has anyone switched to this tariff? If so have you had any problems or was it quick and easy also how are eDF for customer service and their online billing system is that OK.
I am thinking about switching from British Gas.
Thanks.

I've just switched from British Gas to EDF online saver v5. The whole process took just 3 weeks. I had to phone EDF a couple of times as I had questions about my meter and the phone service was excellent, answered immediately and very nice to talk to.
Unfortunately due to me having a E7 meter (which I don't want) I have to wait 28 days til they will change my meter to a one rate one so am on the E7 tariff till then. I've still saved £6 this week as opposed to what BG would have charged for same units but when my meter changes that saving would have been £11+
So a complete no brainer the switch for me, even with the £35 exit fee I had to pay.
Can't comment on online facilities as my PIN to access hasn't arrived yet. And obviously haven't had a bill yet.0 -
Spotted on another thread what tarrif you are on, and based on my consumption last week EDF would have worked out £10.48 cheaper.
Pop along to http://smartmeter.ukpower.co.uk/ and put in a few of your own figures and you'll see exactly what kind of savings you would make.0 -
I switched to EDF Online V5 last year (not the saver version). Customer service seems fine, all queries are actioned immediately and the change went through ok.
Personally, I don't like their online system. It allows you to enter readings but as far as I can see, it doesn't hold records of the inputs for you to review. There aren't any graphical pages either. It seems just a bit amateurish....and and they still send out paper bills, but I did hear they are going to revamp this year.0 -

Sounds like British Gas's website before they got their act together.0 -

You have to register to the read, reduce, reward. on top of registering for the online account www.edfenergy.com/products.../read-reduce-reward.shtml.
then you can track your energy use,

There should not be a need to change your meter they can just charge the same rate for both registers. EDF do this for plenty of in area customers.0 -

I was getting charged same rate per register with British Gas. When I contacted EDF and told them I had an E7 meter but wanted standard tariff and the way BG had worked it they told me their system could not support that and a meter change would have to be made.0
