I've just gone to tax my car online and noted via the paperwork that my car's mot also runs out today
On the dvla site it stats it will check if your car is mot'd on the date the tax starts...Would i be ok to tax it aslong as i get it booked in tomorrow for a test?

The worst that can happen is that it says you must get your MOT done first. I don't see why you should get points on your license if that's what you're referring to, unless of course, you drive the car when the MOT has expired or after the tax has ran out.
MOT needs to be done anyway, so go get it done!0 -
Sadly the expiry date was the 31st so yesterday same with car tax....points for driving a car without a mot?Today your car has a valid MoT so you will be able to tax it from 1 February. The MoT expires at midnight tonight. You're lucky that having to tax the car has highlighted the expiring MoT.0 -

If you're just going round the block, you might be OK but you're driving illegally, risk getting points on your license and having your car impounded/crushed.
Many police cars tend to have cameras that can instantly recognise a car with no road tax, MOT or insurance (I think).
You're OK to drive if you're driving to a booked MOT appointment, however.0 -
Just some further information, you have 14 days (from today) to get the new tax disc or declare the vehicle as SORN:

I don't think they do MOT recognition on that system but I may be wrong, Last year my car had a different MOT expiry date on the paperwork and on the MOT system at the Garage.
So much for that system
