hbos still not issued a response after 8 week deadline!

Hi all hoping someone out there can help me with this one. Ok so i had raised a claim for misselling of PPI on 5 loans held since 2003.
In due course i received my first letter standard we are looking into things for you etc. then received another after about 4 weeks saying still looking will have a response no later than the 29/01/10.

Well still no response so i phone them today and they tell me they haven't even looked at it yet a letter is on its way to tell me to go to fos.

Anyone else had this where they just seem to think FOS are there to outsource work too?

How long will it take to get a response from FOS anyone had any experience? Help please!:(

hi there, the 8 weeks in which they have to reply is a statutory requirement, after which you can take your claim to the FOS, unfortunately all the lenders are innundated with complaints which they can't deal with within the 8 weeks limit.

What I'd do is complete the FOS complaint form and send it in - at least that way if HBOS don't uphold your complaint you've got it logged with the FOS
