    PAP-the point of BYOB is that you bring stuff FOR YOU! You do not need to bring anything for anyone else sweetheart! Honestly.

    I was going to get the decorations myself, and the plates/bowls/cutlery as well-I can't expect people to get that kind of stuff! All I was thinking is if people bring their own drinks and maybe pitch in for food...I think it is so kind of you all to offer but its a bit much to ask when most of you are travelling a VERY long way to see me, buying new outfits (still not sure what I am wearing!) staying in hotels, taking taxis etc.

    Really, I cant ask that of you all. But you are all so very very sweet and kind and overly generous to offer xxxxx

    But we don't mind hon - in fact would like to. You're not very well, and if we can do stuff to make your birthday a less stressful experience, we would like to.

    This is one of those 'learn to accept help' moments. :D

    Just popping in to day hi whilst dinner in oven (Aldi £1.99 pizza how I worship you) then must do housework.

    I agree, FWIW, with the let people do things for you. They want to, so let them feel good from doing it. They would not offer to do food if they didn't want to.

    I agree. We'll have nothing to do for a few hours anyway. Keep us out of the pub next door and give us something to do :D

    I personally wont be able to enjoy myself if I know you've worked yourself into the ground while being unwell. We want to make it special for you, let us help please :)

    I was going to do a run to Costco becasue they do catering sizes of mostly everything needed ie. napkins/cutlery etc. and they do BIIIIIIG CAAAAAAAAAKES that you can get customised ie. Happy Birthday Old Git
