Hi Euronorris,
I completed a SOA and posted it under: Mission Possible - Debt free by 01/01/2012.
What is a snowball calculator and where can I find it?
What exactly is a Payment a Day challenge?
I guess I have done ok so far but I (am) was slipping and going back into a spiral so am trying to arrest the slide.
There is no doubt you guys are a friendly bunch!
Thanks for your help.
PS: £1 in for today!£365 in 365 days challenge: £730 / £1500 -

Hey all, my car has gone to the great scrappy in the sky - well it looked that way when lifted onto the back of a truck :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
In return I got a lovely £50 pound note - don't worry if its not real I know where to go to get my money - but going to pay into the bank then take back out to sort my pot!0 -
Morning all. Another 3 Euro's added, so I'm back on track now.
Not well at all today, so at home. Bleugh.
KPR11 - Snowball calculator can be found here: http://www.whatsthecost.com/snowball.aspx . You enter your debts, and the APR's, and how much you have available for debt repayments and it tells you which you should pay off first so that you pay the least amount of interest overall. It also gives you a Debt Free Date (DFD). And...if you play around with the figures you can see how much an extra 10 quid here and there can bring the DFD forward.
(Mine started in 2014, and is now Sep 2012
)
Payment a Day (PAD) is a thread on the DFW diaries board. Basically, we all aim to make a payment a day, however small, to our debts or savings. It helps encourage you to not buy that magazine/choc bar/coffee etc that you don't need as you start thinking 'oh, I could PAD that money instead though'. At least, that's how it works for me.
You should come on over and say hello.
I'll check out your thread when I get a chance.February wins: Theatre tickets0 -

im using a sealed tin so no way of knowing what is in there (seemed like a good idea at the time aarrgghhh i SOOOO want to open it)
i know in Jan i managed to put £25 away & then hit a wall (no money) so having only put 50p here & 20p there ive no idea what is in there boo hoo
i have £20 in a savings acc that i put to 1 side & if i have it in there still when i get paid again on the 23rd then ill take it out & put it in the tin BUT with only £30 in my pocket until then im hoping i dnt need to dip into it (only got bread & milk & buttie stuff for the kids to get & they are on Hol next week so heres hoping)
this is a great idea
- we are saving towards our holiday so this will be on going until at least next summer BUT ill do an add up at Christmas to see where i am up to
im also saving towards my Daughters Dance Championships (need £150) & towards Christmas (god knows how much ££) & trying to pay my parents £100 back that i owe them so its all cash cash cash
