Monday 1st February - What small DFW things have you done today?!

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important:D
Good morning lovelies
Argh I'm tired today - eldest dd has a tickly cough so was up in the night....annoying me:o Poor thing has exams at school this week so hope she's more awake than me;) Youngest wasn't well last night - temperature, aching and general blurgh-ness...but she really wants to go to school, they have a morning trip today...so she's up and getting ready...she is good:p
Me, I'm at home, not too bad today....just the tiredness. Must try get stuff on ebay ready for the make £5 a day challenge! (Busted last month's target
)
to anyone who wants/needs one (me?!?!!?!) and welcome to any new posters!

Thanks to everyone who posts competitions. You are the stars of the board :T:j:T0 -
Good morning everyone
I'm lucky here as there's no snow, just clear blue skies, but it's cold today. I've got loads to do today and as I'm off from work this week I want to make the most of the time I have.
Today I will:
Check online banking
Make all my meals from the storecupboard
Breakfast: Gluten Free Oats with Honey and Milk
Lunch: Ham and Mustard Sandwich
Dinner: Roast Pork Chop With Spring Onion and Mushroom Mash
NSD 01 for the month as I'm staying in and not going out at all
(my month started on the 25th lol)
Update budgets and spreadsheets
Post 4 items on ebay
No heating on today, it's warm enough and am scared to death of gas and electricity bill come May, am still in credit on this one just received, but it's an estimated one and haven't had the courage to see what numbers it has on it.
Will update my gas and electricity usage spreadsheet today.
Sort out 3 recipe books - check which recipes to keep and put list in front of book so I don't have to search through it each time I want a recipe.
Sort out a huge bag of paperwork
Do the ironing
That's enough to be getting on with today, am going away Friday to Sunday so need to make sure it's all done before I go. Am sitting at the computer for now with a nice warm cup of mocha with a blanket over my knees lol, and am wearing nice "Just For You" socks with teddy bears (literally teddy bears) sewed onto the sides, nice and warm.
millyscarlett hope your daughter feels better soon!
Have a good day everyone!
Cheers
Casper

Went to bingo with friend on Sat and came out £60 in profit! Happy days.
Got an extension on my TMA and got it posted away. I know it was very poor but it should pass.
Went to a tutorial for the other course and it really helped clear some stuff up
So today...
- will home dye my hair

Today so far I have done the following:
Well, over the weekend we changed cars to a diesel so as I do 600 miles driving a week I hope my fuel bill will see a change!
Done Onepoll surveys and a YouGov one
Took a sandwich for lunch
Checked banking and had a fight with an Amazon Marketplace seller (someone hacked into my account and ordered £25 worth of stuff, I said I didn't order it and wanted a refund and they posted it anyway so now I have to send some rubbish I didn't order back to Germany and wait ages for the refund. Grr.)
Emailed CCCS to explain that due to work undertaxing me and a £500 tax bill I couldn't pay the full DMP payment this month.PROUD TO BE DEALING WITH MY DEBTS! DFW Nerd 1004

Hi all - still no work for me today as I am not 100% and now T has conjunctivitis so I have had to keep him off school cos it's contagious. Unfortunately this means I miss out on wages for today though as Monday hours are classed as casual, not contracted. Bum.
Anyhow, today I:
1) Paid in a cheque
2) LSD - Went to a charity shop next to the doctors and got 2 books for T for 20p and an Animal t-shirt for B for £2.
3) 4 lots of hokey cokey on quickwash, all drying indoors.
4) Store cupboard meals
5) Listed lots of items on the Netmums For Sale board.
6) Gave T some Lego from my Top Secret Lego Stash. ( i.e freebies collected from the newspaper that I dole out very sparingly ):shhh:
7) Sent off for a free Cath Kidston mag, as seen on freebies board.
8) Cut up my birthday cards to make tags and other cards.
9) Checked bank, quidco and did SC. I have had £13.45 paid from Quidco today, yay!
10)I will make museli muffins later while dinner is in the oven. Must remember to put in flour.
11) I didn't look at anything in Boots while I was waiting for T's eyedrops.
On a non-DFW note, please may I show off because I've lost 5lbs this week? Probably cos I was ill,but I bet the lack of wine was a contributing factor. I think I shall try and stay off it this week too! At least until Lost starts again - I can't wait!
See you later, L x0 -
