    An amount if £££s means nothing. You need to find out your annual usage in kwhs and pop them into a comparison site.

    There is no one cheapest supplier. It depends how much you use of each fuel, where you live, how you cook, how you heat, how you pay ...

    You don't even say whether you are talking about gas, electricity, or dual fuel?

    Hi Ant...10,000 kwh for gas and 1100 for electric p.a. would be low use. With Ebico that is £500 a year. Same tariff coin meter or credit.

    Antdad, you need to tell us your consumption (in kWhs) and your region OR the name of your tariff and suppliers if you don't want to work out kWhs - as you are a lowish user your kWhs will vary widely because of the variations in tier 1/standing charges between tariffs. At your probable level of consumption you could possibly save 40 or 50% on your gas. But electricity will be a similar price or higher unless you have a dual fuel contract. So end saving may be only 10 to 20%.

    Stick your annual consumption and postcode in a comparison site and see what is suggested.

    Okay, just remembered you're an Ebico customer so Ken68's estimate is probably good. Your best alternative might be Scottish Power (OES8) as they tend to have cheap tier 1 gas prices and generous prompt pay discounts. Depending on your region you could save £100 on a £500 bill. Plus you will be free to use more electricity or gas on occassion without the penalty associated with Ebico.

    Or you could save even more with gas from Scottish Power on their standard tariff (if you are disciplined enough to pay promptly) and electricity from nPower (Total £370 odd after £21 annual discount and assuming you pay each Scottish Power bill on time.) (But if you are averse to comparison sites you are probably averse to reading your meter so you it may not be a good idea being dependent on the £25 each quarter prompt payment discount - it would be safer for you with the Scottish Power OES8 dual fuel tariff.)

    Why are you "allergic" to comparison sites?
    Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently! ;)

    Could it be possible that I read my meters, pay promptly but choose not to spend time on comparison sites?

    Approx annual usage.

    Gas = 9000 kwh

    Electric = 1000 kwh

    So see post 7 for a couple of suggestions. But why, then, not do this yourself? Contradiction there somewhere.

    The time spent posting on here is probably greater than that required to put the figures into a comparison site. Once you have your annual figs it takes 2-3 minutes?
