I was going to go for the Natwest student account but the rail card is for young persons only (because older students won't struggle either will they....) so what is the best account to go for (freebie wise) for a mature student?

I was under the impression that a young persons railcard also applies to students of any age, but if not, you can still buy one for about £20 as a mature student and hopefully that should save you some money in the long run.0

Anyone under/upto (not 100% on that one) the age of 25 can get a Young Persons Railcard, students over that age can also get one but they need their form stamped by the institution if I recall correctly.
However that is for the bought railcards - I can't confirm how it applies to the NatWest offer.0 -
Yes you do get tha railcard - my friend took this offer last year and he's 35.

I'm 28 and hoping to get the railcard but I see that it is a five-year one. Do you know if your friend is allowed to continue using it for the two years after he's finished the three-year degree?0 -

Nope, you have to be under 26, I tried that one!Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -

Impy, I think you might be mistaken.
Their T&Cs state that the card can be purchased by a mature student providing you can show the necessary paper-work and are in full-time education (not applicable to part-time). I got one when I was 27 and doing a full-time Access course.0 -

I'm a student - I'm 32 - and I've got a national railcard. I get the form stamped by the university admin staff in my dept. I hate to say it but....if you read the form it does say all this on there.
Maybe you should tell dude in the station too.
